MyIntealth replaces EPIC for IMG qualification verification
MyIntealth replaces EPIC for international doctors moving to Australia and New Zealand
There’s an important update for international medical graduates (IMGs) planning to work in Australia and New Zealand. The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) has launched MyIntealth, a new online platform that replaces the long-standing EPIC system for verifying medical qualifications.
What is MyIntealth?
MyIntealth is a unified digital portal that brings together several ECFMG services into one streamlined system. Through it, IMGs can upload and verify their credentials, pay fees, track progress and communicate directly with credentialing teams.
The platform continues to use primary source verification, where the issuing university or medical board confirms each credential’s authenticity directly. Once verified, these documents can be shared with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) or the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) to support registration applications.
Why EPIC was replaced
The move to MyIntealth reflects a broader shift toward faster, simpler, and more integrated digital systems. EPIC required users to manage separate accounts and workflows, while MyIntealth centralises everything, thus reducing duplication and improving tracking.
Existing EPIC users will have their verified documents transferred into MyIntealth, though some pending requests may need to be resubmitted. The move is also designed to improve data security and align with future regulatory developments across Australia, New Zealand, and other jurisdictions.
