General Surgery Registrar – Regional Hospital

Location: Geraldton, Western Australia

Employment Type: 12-month contract (February or August 2027 start)

Salary: AUD $125,010 – $220,000 per annum

About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a General Surgery Registrar to join a busy and supportive regional surgical department in Geraldton. This role offers strong clinical exposure across a variety of surgical specialties within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

As a Registrar, you will be responsible for the clinical care of patients under the supervision of senior medical staff, including:

• Attending to patients according to medical urgency, completing histories, examinations, and arranging appropriate investigations
• Assisting with surgical procedures as required
• Managing patient care in line with accepted clinical standards under consultant supervision
• Supporting efficient delivery of key performance indicators, timely discharge summaries, and discharge planning
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff and allied health professionals, to optimise patient outcomes
• Communicating effectively with families, community services, and external practitioners
• Participating in teaching and supervision of resident medical officers and interns
