The successful candidate will work alongside 11 Emergency Physicians, 3 Clinical Nurse Specialists, and 2 Nurse Practitioners, and will supervise 18 resident medical officers and 6th-year medical students from the University of Otago  Key responsibilities include: Providing high-quality emergency care across adult and paediatric presentations Leading trauma and resuscitation efforts in a busy regional trauma centre Participating in teaching, supervision, and professional development programs Contributing to the development of trauma and disaster protocols in collaboration with surgical and anaesthetic teams Supporting continuous improvement and clinical governance initiatives About the Emergency Department Annual presentations: ~48,000 patients Admission rate: ~30% Trauma workload: Higher than average due to agricultural injuries and road accidents Level: Australasian Level 4 ED and regional trauma centre Training: Strong teaching program for ACEM Part I, with plans to expand Part II support 1 Why Palmerston North?
