The GP market in Australia & New Zealand

Consultant GPs are in high demand in Australia and New Zealand, especially to work in rural and remote areas.

The income of a General Practitioner (GP) significantly varies based on location, experience, patient load, and type of practice.

A GP in Australia can earn between AU$120,000 and AU$250,000 per annum. This can skew higher for those owning a private practice or working in areas with a medical workforce shortage, potentially allowing earnings of AU$300,000 or more. Locum GPs are earning up to $3,500 a day.

In New Zealand, the average salary for a General Practitioner (GP) ranges from NZ$130,000 to NZ$180,000 per year.

General Practitioners (GP) make a valuable contribution to Australia and New Zealand's communities. We have various opportunities across Australia and New Zealand, including GP registrar jobs.

Doctors first, then Jobs. That's our difference.

Life as a doctor demands you give everything. Dr Sam Hazledine learned this first as an intern. Years later, Medrecruit was his response. Sam successfully lobbied the World Medical Association to amend the Declaration of Geneva (the modern-day Hippocratic Oath) to include:

I will attend to my own health, wellbeing, and abilities in order to provide care of the highest standard.

Medrecruit continues to advocate for, educate, and work towards better health and wellbeing for all doctors.
