About the Role

An established urology service in Tauranga is seeking a Consultant Urologist to join a collaborative team following an upcoming departure. The service covers a population of ~450,000 across the Bay of Plenty and Lakes regions.

You’ll work within a team of five hospital-based urologists, supported by four registrars, an advanced trainee, and visiting community specialists. The role offers a broad general urology scope with flexibility to shape practice interests.

Key responsibilities include:

• General urology across elective and acute care
• Stone disease (desirable experience)
• Outpatient cystoscopy and transperineal procedures
• Urological oncology, particularly prostate cancer
• Participation in on-call

The department is well-regarded, with access to advanced facilities including robotic surgery, and offers opportunities in teaching, research, and service development.

Flexible working is available (0.8–1.0 FTE), with a supportive, family-oriented team culture.

Private practice opportunities are strong, with potential for significant additional income and future succession prospects as senior consultants reduce workload.
