About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our Maxillofacial Surgery service in a hospital in New Zealand.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a broad range of Maxillofacial services while working within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment. You will provide high-quality clinical care across outpatient clinics, operating theatre sessions, acute and on-call responsibilities, and inpatient services.
Alongside clinical responsibilities, this role offers opportunities to contribute to education, research and service improvement initiatives. You will play an important role in teaching and supporting Registrars, House Officers, Medical Students, Nursing staff and Allied Health professionals, while helping maintain a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
The successful candidate will participate in a 1:3 on-call roster and contribute to providing equitable, patient-focused care aligned with best-practice principles.
About You
As a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon, you will bring both clinical expertise and a collaborative approach to patient care.
You will have:
- Registration with both the Dental Council of New Zealand and the Medical Council of New Zealand (or eligibility for registration)
- Expertise across general Maxillofacial Surgery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- A commitment to education, quality improvement, research and ongoing professional development
- The ability to work effectively in a complex environment and prioritise clinical workload
- A patient-centred approach and commitment to achieving equitable healthcare outcomes
