Our client is a large tertiary referral hospital and the state's major teaching and research centre. Working closely with the University and leading healthcare institutions, the hospital is committed to delivering excellence in healthcare and improving outcomes for patients, staff, and the broader community.


An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Staff Specialist in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery on a fixed-term, part-time basis.


As the sole provider of public cardiothoracic surgical services offers a unique breadth of clinical practice and a level of professional responsibility that is rarely matched elsewhere in Australia. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a statewide service while working within a highly skilled and collaborative multidisciplinary environment.


The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery currently comprises:

  • Three full-time FRACS-qualified Staff Specialists
  • One full-time Senior Medical Officer
  • One RACS Trainee
  • Two Unaccredited Registrars
  • Two Interns
  • Dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgery Coordinator and administrative support staff

You will need

  • Fellowship of Royal Australian College of Surgeons in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Full AHPRA Registration as a specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon
  • Documented Evidence of experience in Minimal Access Thoracic Surgery
