Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist – Rehabilitation Medicine

Location: Rockhampton, Queensland

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time / Part-Time

Salary: $223,136–$282,912 p.a. + super, allowances and benefits

Start Date: Negotiable

About the Role

Join a specialist Geriatric and Rehabilitation Service based in a purpose-built 16-bed facility, delivering rehabilitation and geriatric care across inpatient, ambulatory and outreach settings. Lead specialist care for older people with complex needs while contributing to clinical leadership, education and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist rehabilitation medicine across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
  • Lead complex clinical care, patient flow and discharge planning.
  • Supervise Registrars, PHOs and junior medical staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and community teams.
  • Contribute to teaching, research and quality improvement.

Essential Criteria

  • MBBS and FAFRM, with specialist registration or eligibility.
  • Experience managing complex rehabilitation needs.
  • Strong clinical leadership, judgement and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
  • International candidates can be considered.

What’s On Offer

  • Total remuneration up to $564,939 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer super and 17.5% leave loading.
  • $22,145 p.a. PD allowance + 3.6 weeks PD leave.
