About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established mental health service based in Waikato. You will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality psychiatric care across inpatient and community settings.

International candidates can be considered.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
• Leading and supervising junior medical staff and supporting multidisciplinary teams
• Participating in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
• Building strong relationships with patients, whānau (families), and community services to support recovery-focused care

This Hospital, located in Hamilton, is the major tertiary referral hospital for the region providing specialised and emergency medicine with the capacity for 700+ inpatients as well as outpatients.
