Specialist Consultant

An opportunity is available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well‑established mental health rehabilitation service supporting adults with complex and enduring mental illness. You'll work within a multidisciplinary team providing recovery‑focused assessment, treatment planning, and long‑term therapeutic support across community and inpatient rehabilitation settings.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing clinical leadership and specialist psychiatric care for adults in rehabilitation programs
• Working closely with psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, nursing teams, and community partners
• Developing and reviewing individualised recovery plans
• Supporting transitional care and community reintegration
• Participating in service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Contributing to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff

Requirements

• FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualifications eligible for AHPRA Specialist Registration
• Substantially Comparable outcomes from SIMG can be considered
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in psychiatric rehabilitation
• Commitment to recovery-focused and culturally safe practice
