About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult Mental Health to join a multidisciplinary team delivering care across both inpatient and community settings. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing management for adults with acute and complex mental health conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Clinical leadership across inpatient units and community mental health teams
• Psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment
• Supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and registrars
• Participation in service development, clinical governance, and culturally safe practices
• Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care

About You

• FRANZCP or equivalent, with AHPRA specialist registration
• Experience in general adult psychiatry across acute and community settings
• Strong leadership, communication, and teaching skills
• Commitment to recovery-oriented care and cultural safety
