Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (part-time hours can be negotiated)

About the Role 

Lismore Base Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work across both Acute Care Services (ACS) and the Mental Health Emergency Care (MHEC) team. This dual role offers a unique opportunity to provide psychiatric care in both community and emergency settings, supporting patients in crisis and facilitating continuity of care. 

You will: 

• Lead the multidisciplinary team in delivering psychiatric assessment and treatment for patients in acute and emergency settings. 
• Provide consultation to the Emergency Department and inpatient units. 
• Support crisis intervention, triage, and short-term management through the MHEC model. 
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to service development and quality improvement.
