About the Role

Wyong Hospital is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Consultant Psychiatrist to join its dynamic mental health team. This role focuses on providing high-quality psychiatric care within the hospital’s Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit, which supports patients requiring short- to medium-term admission for assessment and treatment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering comprehensive psychiatric care in a multidisciplinary inpatient setting
• Supporting clinical decision-making and recovery-oriented care
• Providing leadership and supervision to junior medical staff and trainees
• Contributing to service development and integration of culturally safe practices

This large public hospital provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services within the Central Coast region of NSW. The hospital has 310 beds with recent developments to include a modern 50-bed Mental Health Centre and expansion of the Emergency Department.
