About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is seeking a committed and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Walker Adolescent Unit at Concord Hospital. This specialised unit provides long-stay inpatient care for young people aged 12–18 years with complex mental health needs 

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adolescents admitted under the Mental Health Act
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists
• Supporting family-inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally safe care
• Supervising junior medical staff and contributing to education and service development
• Participating in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
