About the Role

Sutherland Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join its Adult Acute Mental Health Service in an integrated role spanning inpatient and community care. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adults experiencing acute mental illness, while also contributing to continuity of care across service settings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the 28-bed Acute Mental Health Unit
• Supporting the Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit and Community Mental Health Services as part of an integrated care model 1
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and contributing to clinical governance and service development
• Supervising junior medical staff and psychiatry trainees
• Promoting trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally safe care
