About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Acute Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Concord Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality psychiatric care and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, supporting adults with acute and complex mental health needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in an inpatient setting
• Leading clinical decision-making and contributing to care planning under the Mental Health and Guardianship Acts
• Collaborating with families, GPs, NGOs, and community services to ensure continuity of care
• Participating in teaching, supervision, and research activities
• Supporting quality improvement, clinical governance, and culturally safe practices

The Concord Centre for Mental Health is a key part of SLHD’s integrated mental health network, offering acute, rehabilitation, and specialist services. The inpatient unit is supported by a strong multidisciplinary team and has close links to community mental health services, ensuring a seamless continuum of care
