Job Description:

Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist – Psychiatry (Mental Health & AODS)

Location: Cairns, QLD

Employment Type: Permanent or Temporary | Full-Time or Part-Time

Salary: Up to $251,642 p.a. (L18-L24) or $274,678 p.a. (L25-L27) + applicable allowances

Start Date: Available by negotiation

About the Role

Provide specialist psychiatric care within a Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service supporting patients across Far North Queensland. Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality mental health services and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment
  • Support mental health and AOD services
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to service improvement, education and training

Essential Criteria

  • Eligible for Specialist Registration in Psychiatry with AHPRA
  • FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Experience in mental health service delivery
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
