Genetic Pathologist / Clinical Scientist / Fellow Diagnostic Genetics

- Full time permanent role (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week)
About the Role
Our client welcomes applications from Genetic Pathologists, Clinical Scientists (Genomics) and newly qualified Fellows to join our expanding Diagnostic Genetics team. As the largest hospital-based genomics service in Aotearoa New Zealand, they are building capacity across germline and somatic genomics and offer multiple pathways for applicants at different stages of practice. The preferred candidate will be highly motivated, innovative, adaptable and responsive to the changing demands and opportunities in genomics. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The overall aim of this role is to enhance health outcomes for people in the Auckland region through clinical and laboratory practice, teaching, supervision, research, service and leadership.
Their Diagnostic Genetics department has established links with a University and there will be an opportunity to be involved in research and teaching.
For Genetic Pathologist or Fellows also interested in an academic role with the University, a 0.4 FTE position at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences will be advertised in parallel.
About you
Genetic Pathologist
You will need to be a medical doctor with post-graduate specialist qualification in Pathology and eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand as a Pathologist to apply for this role.
The ideal candidate for this role will have trained in Genetic Pathology but enquiries are welcome from individuals from those who meet the eligibility criteria with other genetic pathology experience.
