Specialist Consultant

The Opportunity 

As an Anatomical Pathologist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely diagnosis of a wide range of histopathology and cytopathology specimens. You will work closely with referring clinicians, laboratory staff, and fellow pathologists to deliver high quality diagnostic outcomes and contribute to continuous service improvement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Promote and Display our core values at all times. 
• Reporting of routine and complex histopathology as well as cytology cases. 
• Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) and case discussions 
• Contribution to quality assurance, audit and accreditation processes 
• Mentorship and training of junior medical staff 

Applicants should possess the following: 

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia (FRCPA) in Anatomical Pathology or equivalent 
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA 
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing medical education and staff training. 
• Proven ability to work as a team member with effective communication, interpersonal skills and adaptability to work within a multidisciplinary team (collaborative) environment. 
• Demonstrated personal qualities including effective communication skills, motivation, initiative, time management and commitment to professional development. 
• A commitment and understanding of the principles of clinical quality management & assurance including knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes. 
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic anatomical pathology 
• You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
