Job Description:
Consultant Paediatrician | Albany, Western Australia
Our client is seeking a Consultant Paediatrician to join its friendly and collaborative team on a Fixed-Term Part-Time basis (0.8 FTE, 64 hours per fortnight) covering parental leave from July 2026 to April 2027, with potential extension opportunities.

The Role
As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will provide high-quality care across inpatient, outpatient, neonatal, developmental and community paediatric services while working within a supportive multidisciplinary team. You'll also play an important role in clinical leadership, service development, education, and mentoring junior medical staff.
About the Service
Albany Health Campus is a modern 130-bed regional hospital serving approximately 80,000 residents across the Great Southern region. The Paediatric Service manages around 6,500 ED presentations annually, with approximately 1,200 paediatric admissions and 500 births each year.
The department is supported by:
- 4 Consultant Paediatricians
- Paediatric Registrar and Senior Registrar
- Resident Medical Officers
- Dedicated multidisciplinary team including nursing, psychology, dietetics and social work

About You
- Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia
- FRACP (Paediatrics & Child Health) or equivalent recognised specialist qualification
- Experience in acute paediatrics, neonatal care, developmental paediatrics and child health
