Job Description:
Consultant Paediatrician – Paediatrics & Child Health
Location: Kalgoorlie‑Boulder & Esperance, Western Australia (WACHS Goldfields)
Contract: Permanent or Fixed Term | Full Time / Part Time
Salary: $412,161 – $523,436 p.a. (Consultant Year 1–9, incl. 12% super & allowances)
About the Role
You’ll deliver specialist paediatric and neonatal care across inpatient, outpatient and outreach settings, primarily based at Kalgoorlie with service to Esperance. Working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll lead clinical care, strengthen governance and quality, and mentor registrars, residents and interns. The role includes an on‑call component and opportunities to shape service development across the region
What You’ll Do
- Provide specialist paediatric and neonatal care across hospital and community settings
- Lead service delivery for child health, including developmental and complex care pathways
- Participate in on‑call and emergency responses (including neonatal)
- Supervise and develop junior medical staff; contribute to teaching and training
- Drive quality improvement, clinical governance and policy initiatives
What We’re Looking For
AHPRA specialist registration (Paediatrics & Child Health) or eligibility
- Broad paediatric experience with interest in neonatal and developmental paediatrics
- Strong communication, leadership and collaborative skills
- Commitment to culturally safe care and equity for Aboriginal children and families
