Job Description:

  • Permanent, full-time role (1.0 FTE)
  • Salary band: $185,380 - $267,980 per annum pro-rata

Our client is looking for a Clinical Haematologist to join theirour collaborative team. This is an opportunity to work in a supportive, family-friendly environment with a wide variety of cases, access to professional development, and a close relationship with the University of Otago.

About the role

As a Clinical Haematologist you will play a central role in delivering high-quality care to a geographically diverse population.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Inpatient and outpatient care: managing a broad spectrum of malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions
  • After-hours laboratory work: providing essential laboratory expertise as part of an after-hours roster
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration: participating in meetings with the Christchurch Transplant team and local multidisciplinary meetings
  • Bleeding centre: supporting care and management for bleeding disorders within our dedicated centre
  • Outreach clinics: conducting regular outreach clinics in Invercargill and supporting patients across the wider Southern region
  • Teaching and mentorship: working with fifth-year and pre-intern medical students from the University of Otago, mentoring basic and advanced trainees and house officers
  • Research and quality improvement: contributing to an active trials division and the department's quality and safety programme, with opportunities for leadership within the department and the wider hospital setting
