This hospital is a Level 1 rural and remote hospital based in north-west Queensland, 100km east of the Northern Territory Border. There are multiple services on offer including Primary Health Outpatients,and Emergency services The town is not a tourist destination but the traditional homelands of the Gangalidda, Waanyi, Garrawa and Yunjulla people who have inhabited the land for over thousands of years. The community is a well developed and successful Aboriginal community with a population of around 1200.
