Specialist Consultant

Locum cover is required for:

• ASAP - 16 February 2026
• 23 February - 6 April 2026
• 23 April - 16 September 2026

Position Details:

• ED experience, preferably with advanced Obstetrics or Anaesthetics
• SMO with FACRRM/FRACGP

Located in Queensland (QLD), this is a 65-bed rural hospital offering a wide range of services. 

The hospital is at the forefront of Rural Generalists training and is the first hospital in Australia to be accredited to train Rural Generalist interns following the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine Training Pathway.

The Location

This rustic country town, with a population of 7,287, is a one-hour drive south west of Cairns.  Buses offer a number of return services during the seven day week between the town and the hospital.

Known for its cooler temperature, slow pace and general feeling of relaxation, this town is ideally situated as a base to explore most places of interest in the Tablelands.
