Position Details:
- Shift times: 0800 - 1700 | 1700 - 0800 On call | 0800 - 0800 Weekends
- Specialist General Practitioner – FRACGP/ FACRRM

Client Description:
This is a small 14-bed aged-care facility in Queensland, offering the following services:
- Residential aged care
- Palliative care
- Non-dedicated respite care
- Transitional care
This is an Aboriginal community in Central Queensland, around 2 hours inland of Rockhampton.
Working in Aboriginal health can be challenging due to the complex care needs of many patients, but also very rewarding.
This opportunity will provide an opportunity to:
- Acquire knowledge and understanding of the complex determinants of indigenous health
- Develop cultural competence and understanding of cultural safety
- Contribute to, and potentially become advocates for, indigenous health outcomes
- Make a practical contribution to closing the gap on health equality and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people
