Locum cover is required for:

• Week of 18 May 2026: Mix of urgent care and planned care session. 10 sessions across the week.
• Week of 2 June 2026 (post King’s Birthday): Mix of planned and urgent care. 8 sessions across the week.
• Week of 22 June 2026: Mix of planned care and urgent care (mainly planned). 10 sessions across the week.
• Week of 29 June 2026: 10 sessions of urgent care
• Week of 29 June 2026: 10 session of planned care 
• Week of 6 July 2026: 8 sessions of urgent care (short week with Friday Matariki)
• Week of 6 July 2026: 8 session of planned care with on-call GP weekend option
• Week of 13 July 2026: 10 sessions of urgent care 
• Week of 13 July 2026: 10 sessions of planned care 
• Week of 20 July 2026: 8 sessions of urgent care
• Week of 20 July 2026: 10 sessions of planned care 
• Week of 27 July 2026: 10 sessions of urgent care
• Week of 27 July 2026: 10 sessions of planned care

• General practitioners or Urgent Care consultants for Urgent Primary Care

This medical centre is based within the largest town within the West Coast in the South Island of New Zealand.  The centre is a busy GP clinic with a patient base close to 5750.

Location Information

The nearest domestic airport is 39 km from the medical centre and serviced by direct, 45-minute flights from Christchurch. The airport offers an extensive range of car rental options as well as a direct shuttle service from the airport to the town where the hospital is based.

For those who are driving please note that the town is a 3.5 hour drive from Christchurch and 9 hours from Invercargill.
