Specialist Consultant

Our client is looking for a GP to join them in a large, modern general practice in Ashburton, caring for over 10,500 enrolled patients and offering a well-supported, team-based environment.

This is an opportunity to join an experienced, high-performing multidisciplinary team in a purpose-built facility, with strong systems and a consistent, sustainable workload.

The Role

• Monday to Friday, with structured morning and afternoon sessions
• 15-minute appointments, 12 per session
• Modern practice with two minor procedure rooms and dedicated triage
• Established patient base within the largest general practice in the region

The Team & Environment

You’ll work alongside GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, HCAs, and a wider support team, with strong clinical leadership and full administrative backing.

The practice also offers an integrated “one‑stop” model, with on-site pharmacy, physiotherapy, and visiting specialists, supporting efficient and coordinated patient care.

This purpose-built, multi-million-dollar family health centre was completed in December 2017, combining several long-established local services.

There are 16 consulting rooms, a nurses’ bay and spaces allocated for minor surgery, visiting professionals and clinics.

The clinic is located in a semi-rural setting, around one hour’s drive from Christchurch, the South Island’s largest city. The area boasts vineyards, fishing, good golf courses and ski areas - you can be on a chairlift within 60 minutes. The area has good local amenities and is well-placed for those wanting to explore the South Island by car. The nearby city of Christchurch has an airport with good links to the north Island and Sydney.
