This high-security men’s prison focuses on sentence compliance, reducing reoffending and ensuring better outcomes for Maori. There is a strong focus on offering prisoners practical skills and training that are transferable to real employment opportunities. A range of GP and men’s health services are provided.

Located in a suburb of Manukau, South Auckland, the prison is just 10 minutes from Auckland airport, offering a number of international and domestic flights daily. Auckland city centre can be reached in 45 minutes via State Highway 20.
