Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist / Senior Medical Officer – Emergency Medicine
- Location: Bundaberg, Queensland
- Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
- Salary: $408,046 - $627,119 total remuneration
About the Role
Join a well-supported Emergency Department providing care across a broad and diverse case mix. You will deliver high-quality acute care, manage patient flow, and work closely within a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and managing emergency presentations across all acuity levels
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior medical staff
- Participating in teaching, training, and clinical governance activities
- Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Supporting departmental leadership and service development (senior roles)
Requirements:
- Fellowship with an appropriate college (e.g., FACEM) or equivalent experience (for specialist roles)
- Current medical registration (or eligibility) in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to education, quality improvement, and patient-centred care
