About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Director of Anaesthetics to join a well‑established outer‑regional health service providing care to a catchment of approximately 50,000 people.

This leadership role sits within the Medical Services Division and combines clinical anaesthetic practice with service leadership, education, and governance. The department supports a broad surgical and medical profile, including emergency, HDU, general and specialist surgery, maternity, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, urology, and oncology services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist anaesthetic and peri‑operative care within scope of practice
• Participation in pre‑anaesthetic clinics with high‑quality clinical documentation
• Delivery of best‑practice pain management
• Continuous patient monitoring during procedures in line with professional standards
• HDU consultancy support, including procedures such as CVC and arterial line placement
• Participation in the anaesthetic on‑call roster and emergency responses
