Fellow (Plastic Surgery) – Launceston, Tasmania

Fellow – Plastic Surgery

Location: Launceston, Tasmania

Contract: Full time | 1 Feb 2027 – 6 Feb 2028 | 76 hrs/fortnight + on‑call

Salary: $134,930 – $189,005 p.a. + 12% super + salary packaging + allowances

About the Role

This Fellowship provides extensive hands‑on experience across a broad plastic surgical scope, including trauma (soft tissue, upper limb, burns, maxillofacial), skin cancer and reconstruction, breast surgery, microsurgery, and aesthetic exposure through private lists. Fellows lead elective operating lists, support emergency care, attend dedicated clinics, and play a key role in teaching and research within the department.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage inpatient and outpatient plastic surgery patients
  • Participate in on‑call (1:4–1:5) and support consultant on‑call when appropriate
  • Lead Fellow-level operating lists and assist with elective and trauma cases
  • Attend plastics and trauma clinics, head & neck MDTs, and private sessions
  • Teach registrars, RMOs and students; contribute to weekly education and M&M
  • Participate in research with presentation expectations at state or national meetings
