Resident Medical Officer

Locum cover is required for:

• 26 - 27 March 2026, 8a–4p General Medicine
• 6 - 10 April 2026, 2p–11p General Medicine PM shift (mix of ward + ED; suitable for senior RMO)
• 7 - 10 April 2026, 8a–4p mix of ward duties including General Medicine (Tues) + Paeds/Ortho/Mental Health (Thu/Fri)
• 13 - 14 April 2026, 8a–4p General Medicine
• 13 - 14 April 2026, 10p–8a Nights
• 4 - 5 May 2026, 8a–4p General Medicine with long day Tuesday
• 4 - 8 May 2026, 1p–11p General Medicine PM shift (mix of ward + ED)
• 8 - 10 May 2026, 10p–8a Nights
• 14 - 17 May 2026, 8a–4p General Medicine + weekend ward duties with long days Thursday and Saturday
• 6 - 9 June 2026, weekend ward duties + 8a–4p General Medicine Mon–Tues with long day Tuesday
• 22 - 26 June 2026, 2p–11p General Medicine

Position Details:

• PGY3+

This medical centre is based within the largest town within the West Coast in the South Island of New Zealand.  The centre is a busy GP clinic with a patient base close to 5750.

Location Information

The nearest domestic airport is 39 km from the medical centre and serviced by direct, 45-minute flights from Christchurch. The airport offers an extensive range of car rental options as well as a direct shuttle service from the airport to the town where the hospital is based.

For those who are driving please note that the town is a 3.5 hour drive from Christchurch and 9 hours from Invercargill.
