This is a public hospital in the southern Canterbury region, providing a range of inpatient, outpatient and community secondary services.

The hospital provides 24/7 acute medical, surgical and maternity services, Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) services for older persons and a number of tertiary services through visiting clinicians.

Location Information

This hospital is located in the Southern Canterbury region, 160 km South of Christchurch and 200 km North of Dunedin.

The CBD contains a precinct boasting excellent dining and interesting shopping. Surrounded by many inland lakes, there is the opportunity to partake in a range of water sports during the summer. In winter, there are also at least five South Island ski fields are all less than a 2 hour drive.
