Job Description:
Role: Registrar – Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (Unaccredited)
Location: Bendigo, VIC
Employment Type: Fixed Term Full-Time
Salary: As per award (HM25–HM30, experience-based)
Start Date: 01/02/2027
About the Role
Join a leading regional health service with a strong teaching culture and modern facilities. As an Unaccredited Registrar, you will coordinate inpatient and outpatient care in plastic and reconstructive surgery, working closely with consultants. The role offers significant operative exposure, including opportunities as primary operator and first assistant, plus structured teaching, mentorship, and research development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage surgical inpatients and outpatients
- Participate in elective and emergency theatre sessions
- Contribute to weekend/on-call rosters
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Teach junior staff and medical students
- Engage in training and mentorship programs
Essential Criteria
- Eligibility for medical registration in Australia
- Relevant postgraduate clinical experience
- Interest in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to teaching and professional development
- Evidence of immunisations (incl. flu vaccination)
