Registrar – General Surgery (Non-Accredited)

Location: Launceston, TAS

Employment Type: Fixed-Term Full-Time (February 2027 to February 2028)

Salary: $138,978 - $194,675 p.a. + 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Start Date: 1 February 2027

About the Role

An excellent opportunity for a General Surgery Registrar to join a well-supported surgical team in regional Tasmania. You will gain broad exposure to General Surgery, including operating, emergency, and outpatient settings, while rotating through Breast/Endocrine, Colorectal, and Upper GI/Hepatobiliary specialties. The position offers close consultant supervision, protected teaching time, research opportunities, and exposure to a diverse caseload. International candidates can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage surgical inpatients and clinical activities.
  • Participate in operating theatre, emergency, and clinic services.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to teaching, research, and professional development activities.
  • Support safe, high-quality patient care.

Essential Criteria

  • General or limited registration with AHPRA or eligibility.
  • Relevant postgraduate clinical experience.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to surgical training and professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
