General Surgery Non-Training Registrar – Hospital Setting
Location: Rotorua, New Zealand
Employment Type: Fixed Term Full-Time
Start Date: 2 November 2026
About the Role
An opportunity is available for a General Surgery Non-Training Registrar within a busy regional service following an increase in FTE. You will join a supportive surgical team delivering high-quality care across a broad case mix. The role includes exposure to inpatient management, acute admissions, theatre, and outpatient clinics. This position is ideally suited to candidates seeking continuity through to January 2028 and strong hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for general surgery patients
- Assist with operative procedures and perioperative management
- Participate in acute rosters, ward rounds, and clinics
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and support audit activities
Essential Criteria
- Eligible for medical registration
- Registrar-level experience in general surgery
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
