Job Description:

General Surgery Registrar

Central Queensland | Regional Tertiary Hospital

An exciting opportunity is available for a General Surgery Registrar to join a busy and well-supported surgical department at a major regional referral hospital in Central Queensland.

This role offers excellent exposure across a broad range of general surgical presentations, including emergency and elective work, with strong consultant supervision and a high operative volume. The hospital services a large catchment area and provides tertiary-level care, making it an ideal environment for skill development and progression.

The Role:

  • General Surgery Registrar (unaccredited / service registrar)
  • Mix of emergency, acute and elective surgery
  • On-call and after-hours roster participation
  • Strong focus on teaching, supervision and hands-on operative experience

About You:

  • PGY3+ with prior surgical experience
  • Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Interest in regional medicine and surgery
