Job Description:
Registrar, Palliative Care (North West Tasmania)
Location: North West Tasmania (Burnie & Latrobe)
Role: Registrar – Palliative Care (Accredited)
Contract: Fixed‑term full time until 31 January 2027 | 76 hrs/fortnight + 10 hrs education
Salary: $134,930 – $189,005 p.a. + 12% super + salary packaging

About the Role
You will provide palliative care to patients across hospital settings, community services, and aged care facilities, working closely with consultants, nurses and allied health. The role includes protected education time, a dedicated training program, and opportunities for accreditation across ACRRM, RACGP and RACP pathways.
What You’ll Do
- Provide clinical care for palliative inpatients and outpatients
- Participate in community visits, RACF reviews and consults across settings
- Work with multidisciplinary teams across NWRH, MCH and community services
- Join a structured teaching program with allocated education days
- Contribute to quality and safety initiatives and accurate clinical documentation
Accredited Training
- ACRRM: 12‑month AST Palliative Care + Foundation/ Diploma equivalents
- RACGP: Extended Skills (6 months) + Advanced Skills (12 months)
- RACP: Foundations + Advanced Training (Core Term 2 Community and Elective)
Eligibility
- AHPRA General or Limited Registration
- Ability to meet pre‑employment checks (criminal history, WWCC, ID)
