Career Medical Officer – Oncology (Cancer Centre)

Salary: $132,613 – $188,840 p.a. (pro rata) + 12% super

About the Role

A rewarding opportunity for an experienced Career Medical Officer to join a regional cancer centre delivering high-quality oncology care. This role offers predictable weekday hours (no on-call) and a high level of clinical autonomy, fully supported by consultant oncologists, specialised nursing, and allied health teams. You will manage outpatient oncology patients, contribute to multidisciplinary care, and support seamless coordination across hospital services. International candidates can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments for oncology patients receiving treatment
• Manage ongoing outpatient cancer care collaboratively
• Liaise across departments for admissions and escalations
• Provide ward consultations for admitted oncology patients
• Participate in MDT meetings and quality improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria

• General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Experience as a CMO, Senior Registrar, or GP with oncology interest
• Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Oncology experience desirable (training provided)
