General Medicine Registrar – Rural Hospital Medicine
Location: Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand
Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (2027)
Salary: As per applicable MECA
About the Role
Join a supportive and collegial General Medicine team in Masterton, providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population across a broad range of acute and general medical conditions. This role offers excellent exposure to rural medicine, with opportunities to develop clinical decision-making, procedural skills, and confidence in managing patients across the inpatient setting.
You will work closely with experienced Physicians, Registrars, House Officers, and multidisciplinary teams, benefiting from strong supervision and teaching in a learning-focused environment. The position is suitable for doctors looking to broaden their general medicine experience while enjoying the unique challenges and rewards of rural healthcare.
This role is open to doctors with provisional registration, with supervision available to support successful integration into the New Zealand healthcare system.

Client Description:
Recently having moved into a brand new, fully equipped, purpose built building, this hospital strives to provide the highest standard of 24-hour acute and emergency services. Set in the heart of the Wairarapa region, this teaching hospital provides a full range of secondary medical, surgical and O&G services.
