Unaccredited Trainee/Registrar/RMO - Cardiology

Health Service: Western NSW

Role: Trainee – Unaccredited Cardiology - apply as Registrar or RMO

Experience: PGY2+

Hours: 38 hours per week

Salary: $105,000 – $130,000+ p.a.

Start: ASAP


Role Overview

Registrar‑equivalent unaccredited cardiology role providing structured exposure across cardiology services in a regional network. The role includes echocardiography training, outpatient cardiology clinics, district STEMI cover, general medicine duties, and leave‑cover exposure in a larger cardiac centre with access to angiography.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cardiology and general medical care under appropriate supervision
  • Attend weekly echocardiography training supervised by cardiologists and cardiac sonographers
  • Participate in cardiology clinics (2 days/week) in Bathurst
  • Contribute to district cardiology & STEMI roster (1 day/week; 1 in 4 weekends on‑call in Orange)
  • Provide leave cover in Orange (up to 12 weeks/year), including angiography exposure
  • Undertake 1 day/week General Medicine duties (no on‑call during GM shifts)
  • Participate in MDTs, education sessions (videolink with Orange & RPAH), audit and research

Candidate Profile

  • 2 years post graduate experience needed with interest in cardiology
  • IMGs welcome: AHPRA registration required with some AU experience; supervision and visa sponsorship available; Most recent registrar/supervisor report required to demonstrate competency gaps
  • Ability to work independently within supervised practice
  • Strong clinical references required
