Registrar – Emergency Medicine / Anaesthetics Rotation (Fixed Term, Full Time)

The Opportunity

A fantastic 12‑month combined Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics Registrar position is available in North West Tasmania, offering a structured rotation designed to build strong airway, peri‑operative and critical care skills that complement Emergency Medicine training. The position is ideally suited to ACEM trainees or doctors seeking high‑quality supervised experience across both disciplines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Six months in a busy, well‑supported Emergency Department managing a diverse range of presentations, including trauma.
• Six months in a supervised Anaesthetics rotation (non‑ANZCA accredited), gaining experience in operative anaesthesia, day procedures, obstetric anaesthesia, and acute pain management.
• Participate in a 24‑hour rotating roster with consultant support, including Fellows of ACEM and RANZCA.
• Benefit from robust teaching, 10 hours paid education time per fortnight, and access to ACEM‑approved training opportunities, including Paediatric EM requirements.

• Medical Practitioners with General or Limited AHPRA registration at commencement.

Contract & Benefits

• Full‑time fixed term to January 2027 (hours negotiable).
• MP Level 5–11 salary: $134,930 – $183,500 + 12% super, plus salary packaging.
• Relocation and residential support available.
• Opportunity to extend Emergency Medicine training following the Anaesthetics rotation (subject to departmental requirements).
