Director - Emergency Medicine
Location: Queanbeyan, NSW
Employment Type: Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer (Minimum 30 hrs/week)
Salary: NSW Award Rates Apply
Start Date: By Negotiation
About the Role
Lead a busy Emergency Department seeing approximately 27,000 presentations annually. This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities across service development, clinical governance, workforce planning and education. Approximately 20-25 hours per week is dedicated to leadership duties, with the remainder being clinical. International candidates can be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Emergency Medicine services and clinical governance.
- Provide specialist emergency care within a multidisciplinary team.
- Support training, education and accreditation initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement and service development.
- Participate in the on-call roster.
Essential Criteria
- AHPRA-recognised Specialist Emergency Medicine qualification (FACEM or equivalent).
- Recent specialist Emergency Medicine experience.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Commitment to education, research and quality improvement.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
